A little mini-update today:
Despite all our coverage for it, Speed Racer flopped. Resoundingly. I wrote an editorial about its performance; follow the above link to check it out.
With that flick out of the way and Iron Man now two weekends old, it's The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian full speed ahead, and the movie doesn't disappoint. I wrote my review early; you can find those three pages of in-depth raving here.
In addition to the usual, you'll also be getting a few spotlights with the Narnia cast this weekend, so watch out for those.

The Wachowski bros certainly put a lot of effort into making Speed Racer... but the movie overall looked and felt like a cross between anime, a kaleidoscope, that Flintstones movie, a video game and the Dukes of Hazard
Good call on the kaleidoscope. To that list I'll also add candy. Not just "eye candy"; it literally felt like I was watching sugar.
While I didn't see Speed Racer since it looked pretty bad, I did just see Prince Caspian. Man that movie was awesome. I've gotta say I was most impressed of all by the way they never lost the feel or the idea of the book. There was so much extra in this movie that it was mind-blowing, but somehow, and I really couldn't tell you how, they seemed to stay incredibly faithful to the book. I think it might be because every little extra thing they put in seemed like it was just fleshing out what was already there. Like there wasn't room for it all to go in the book, but they found a way to include it in the movie.
Of course this probably doesn't count the attack on the castle but let's face it, that was just really really cool. Also, it was great how they just included little things that they didn't need to and never mentioned but that were explained in the book. I'm thinking about stuff like Wimblewether going with Edmund to give the challenge and the Bulgy Bear actually sucking his paw. Very good, very well done.
Also, I hope your spotlight is with Susan. Man she was looking good in this.
