Michael the Good Kid, or Night of the Clayton Heartbreak
Wednesday, October 10, 2007 - 12:08 AM

Man, mashing up titles can be fun. If you haven't figured it out by the title (and you probably haven't, because nobody's heard of one of these movies), I have three new reviews up: The Heartbreak Kid, Michael Clayton, and The Good Night.

Check 'em out. Oh, and what's with The Heartbreak Kid tanking? It opened to about the same amount that Good Luck Chuck opened to. To give that some perspective, Dane Cook's last starring vehicle made 31 million dollars total here in the U.S., while Night at the Museum made $230 million. I thought The Heartbreak Kid was very broad and funny and it seemed like it would appeal to a wide audience. And then nobody went to see it. I usually have a fair idea of how well movies will do at the box office, so if anyone cares to enlighten me, feel free.

Oh, and since I haven't updated in like two weeks, I've done some spotlights since then: Amir Bar-Lev (director of the documentary My Kid Could Paint That), Jennifer Garner and Jason Bateman (for The Kingdom) and Morgan Freeman (for Feast of Love).

There was a stretch there in which I wasn't going to many press days, so no, I didn't get to meet any of them. Don't worry though; that all ended this morning, when I got to meet Eva Mendes and Robert Duvall. Spotlights for both of them (for We Own the Night) will be up this weekend.
