Into the Wild, Eastern Promises, and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. The latter of the three is the weakest, which itself gives you an idea of how strong the other two are.
Into the Wild I had to see for TheCinemaSource. I saw the other two on my own time over the weekend, but since we didn't have anybody go to an advance screening of those, I wrote the review for them, too. They're all direct-linked above.
I won't ramble here about what makes them great. Jesse James has a running time of nearly three hours going against it, so for an average night out you might want to go to one of the other two. But seriously. Check these out.
